What?

Posada Belen is part of Hermana Tierra, an NGO run entirely by a small group of local volunteers; provides a home for young boys who have been abandoned or abused.

Where?

A suburb of Lima, capital of Peru.

Number of volunteers required?

Up to four, preferably same sex.

Other requirements?

The volunteer(s) should be prepared to contribute NOK 350 to 500 per month for accommodation. Willingness to accept quite strict ‘house rules’ when working at the Posada. Spanish language skills a distinct advantage. An interest in developing the home in terms of both physical facilities and finding suitable boys to live there is useful.

Benefits?

The volunteer(s) will live at the home(s) of the parents of former RCNUWC students and commute to Posada Belen daily.

Minimum length of stay?

At least six months.

Volunteer tasks?

Spending days with boys in the house and helping with living skills and house work such as cooking and cleaning as well as with their homework; interest in developing the home in terms of both physical facilities and finding suitable boys to live there is useful.

September each year.
