Flexible (there was recently a group of four Danish volunteers at the school).

Volunteer tasks?

The volunteers will help to enhance the school’s curriculum, for example through English classes, drama, sports activities, music or art depending on the volunteers’ own skills and background. Interaction with the school’s English teachers will also be helpful.

The school will provide accommodation and support, including obtaining of visas. Volunteers will be able to travel during the school holidays and at weekends.

Details?

Volunteers are responsible for the cost of travel to / from China, for visas, insurance and any necessary vaccinations. The school will assist in the visa process and provide in-country support for the volunteers. This opportunity is new to the UWCRCN Programme in 2012.

Minimum length of stay?

This depends on the type of visa obtained. One to three months is usual. The school is working with the Chinese authorities and the UWC National Committee to see whether it is possible to extend this.

Flexible, although at the start of a school term is more convenient.

Current volunteers?

None from UWCs.

Previous volunteers?

None from UWCs, as this is a new partenrship in 2012.
